The Therapsit

Chedell Cruickshank is a fully qualified and insured MSc sports therapist who completed a Sports Therapy masters degree obtained at the University of Gloucestershire and is now a member of the society of sports therapists. She also previously graduated from the University of Lincoln with a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science. The master’s degree allowed Chedell to; develop a vast amount of skills, gain an increase in knowledge of anatomy and physiology and increase her confidence at examining and assessing clients in order to become a competent sport therapist. During her degree she completed 200 voluntary hours, including hours at Nottingham Sports Injury clinic and Paul Ray physiotherapy sports injury & therapeutic center, allowing her to see firsthand what it takes to run a successful sports injury clinic. Chedell Currently works with Derby College Basketball Academy. She provides a sports therapy service to all players on the squad which includes injury screening with preventative exercises.  

In addition, Chedell is a very active individual with a particular interest in basketball. Having played at a high level for many years and becoming injured on numerous occasions, Chedell knows the frustration of being injured and not being able to play the sport you love. Therefore, she understands the importance of reducing injury risk and takes pride in providing her best services with enthusiasm and motivation, making her clients needs a priority and their health and well being of vital importance.

Education and knowledge doesn’t end with her degree, Chedell is keen to keep increasing her skills and knowledge within the profession by taking continual professional development courses and engaging in continuous reading to keep up to date with the latest research. Furthermore, Chedell has previously been involved in work with GB basketball Senior Women's team. She worked with the team at the Euro Basket tournament in summer 2019, during which the team finished in the top four and qualified for the Olympic Qualifying tournament. During summer 2023 she worked for GB Basketball as the U16 Women's team sports therapist. She travelled with the team to Montenegro for the U16 Europeans, where the team finished in 6th place.

Various days and hours currently available throughout the week. 

We operate a 24 hour cancellation policy, it is as follows: We ask that you please give 24 hours notice if you can no longer attend your scheduled appointment. This will give sufficient time for the appointment to be available to other patients. If you cancel your appointment within less than 24 hours or do not attend a pre-booked appointment, it will result in a cancellation fee of 50% of your appointment cost being charged on your next appointment.
